Belvedere International School was founded in the September of 2018, in the Hili area of Al Ain. The vision of the school is to provide students with an excellent education and a foundation of knowledge in which to grow and learn, celebrate their successes and think and solve in a global society.
A campus is far more than just a set of buildings with classrooms, dorms, labs, or offices. It is an entire ecosystem of learning, whose facilities, layout, and design principles are all part of every student’s journey in distinct ways, which overall represents the school’s identity. Al Ain is a unique cultural oasis with over 5,000 years of history. It is referred to as “The Garden City” due to its abundance of vegetation and greenery, city oases, parks, tree-lined avenues and decorative roundabouts. The all year round sunshine also provides a distinctive desert culture not seen anywhere else in the world. The city has a hot desert climate featuring extremely hot summers and comfortable warm winters.
It is the largest inland city in the UAE and is located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is close to the border with Oman, and adjacent to the town of Al Buraimi located in Oman. It is a 50-minute drive by highway to Dubai, and a one hour minute drive to Abu Dhabi.
The ecologically important Jebel Hafeet (Mount Hafeet), is considered one of the monuments of Al-Ain, lying just to the southeast and rising to 1,100–1,300 m (3,600–4,300 feet) in elevation. Due to its winding road and stunning views, it is considered one of the top ten drives in the world.
The all year round sunshine also provides a distinctive desert culture not seen anywhere else in the world.
The beautiful sand dunes all around Al Ain are of varying textures that are tinged red with iron oxide providing a range of colours depending on the season and time of day.
Al-Ain is developing as a tourist destination. The dry desert air makes it a welcome retreat from the coastal humidity of the larger cities. Many Emirati nationals in Abu Dhabi have holiday houses in the city making it a popular weekend destination for families from the capital city.
